Pretender

by Daz Mellow   Jul 13, 2007

You swore that you would never make me cry.
Never make me anything but happy.
If you do, it'd be the last thing you ever did.
You'd never forgive yourself,
And you wouldn't ask to be forgiven.

You're a liar, a pretender.
You're everything, but the things you say you are.
Make a promise, break it later.
It just seems alright with you.
It's okay to leave someone in the cold,
As long you have your fire burning.
How could you, How could you,
Do such a thing?

Liar, liar,
Eat your words.
Take it all in,
Take it all back.
I don't need to hear it,
Baby, I can't bear it.
Can't believe I fell for a pretender.

I'm not broken,
I'm just torn apart.
Not that you'd care,
But you broke my heart.
The wound doesn't hurt,
It'll heal and leave a scar.
A voice whispering in my ear.
A reminder of just how cruel you are.

I'll never listen to another word you say.
If you didn't say it, sooner or later I would.
We should have been over before we even started,
Mr. Pretender, you're just so coldhearted...

Unusual and jumpy in the flow but I still really liked it. It was good and angry, never boring at all! Good job!
