Did you hear me, my voice just a whisper
Above all the noise of the crowd
I don't think you heard me
But what I was saying
I was speaking quite loud.
Did you hear me, my voice just a whisper
Inside of my mind are the words
I'm sure if you listened
Above all the yelling
I know that I would be heard.
Did you hear me, my voice just a whisper
The importance of all that I speak
Comes up from the heartache
That lives in my soul
Sometimes seems buried too deep.
Did you hear me, my voice just a whisper
One some people wish to ignore
You've littered my dwelling
With toxins and oils
That's sinking so quick to my floor.
Did you hear me, my voice just a whisper
As jumbo jets soar cross the sky
They're dropping pollutants
That land on my surface
Some bringing sad tears to my eyes.
Did you hear me, my voice just a whisper
As sea creatures die all in vain
The trash that you bury
Sealed in metal cans
Is causing their deaths all the same.
Did you hear me, my voice just a whisper
What more is there left to say
Take heed to my warnings
You must keep me dear
Or my substance might wash away.
