I knew it all along

A long time ago,
I was still a kid.
I wanted to be with you,
Yet I never did

Many a time I wondered,
Why I didn't do so.
Maybe it was just,
That i couldn't go.

And so I lost you,
you went, I couldn't follow.
Reduced to writing poems,
Just to drown my sorrow.

It hurts so much,
To know that I've done wrong.
Maybe even more,
now that your gone.

why couldn't I tell you,
why couldn't I say.
Why did I leave you,
Why did I walk away.

I'll never know the answers,
Yet I have learned one thing.
If you can't talk,
You might as well sing.

For knowing what to say,
Or remembering a song.
Will never have a use,
If your love is already gone.

I knew it all along,
What I wanted to do.
Took me a wile to say this,
But, I wanna be with you.
