Young Lady

by Painted By Colors llInLovell   Jul 15, 2007

Young Lady, he's with the Lord now..
They told me, as I stood in the front pew..
They tried to calm the storm,
As did God and his mighty hand,
But I died... I died on the inside.

Young Lady, look at me when I talk to you,
the teachers told me, when school came around..
But my mind was whirling and reeling,
I didn't understand a word she said.
Her mouth, moving with nonsence,
and my heart... didn't move at all.

Young Lady, what has happened to you?
All my friends would ask.
I couldn't answer though,
It felt as if I had always been that way.

When I came around, as did the Earth,
and all of the beautiful colors.
The shades of purple, the shades of green,
but it was still without daddy's mighty arms.

Young Lady, feel at ease,
he's still here with you.

I feel him tuck me in at night,
and his warm breathe, as he tells me
Young Lady, be still, Daddy's right here...

But this Young Lady isn't the same one,
and she was the night before..
