Winter's rose

by Amy   Jul 15, 2007

A wilted rose turning brown,
Pokes out from the sodden ground.
Bruising in the heavy rain,
Making one bush bare again.
Sparrows did inhabit it,
But away from it they now flit.
As it stands now brown and bare,
It looks as if no-one cares.
Shivering as if it's cold,
A winter's rose getting old.
But living another year,
In the garden just out there.
A wilted rose turning brown,
Now lies sadly on the ground.
