The mirror

by Alissa   Jul 15, 2007

The mirror shows,
every flaw,
every crack,
every secret you want to hide.
It shows everything,
everything you try to hide.
You tell yourself no one will notice,
yet when you look at yourself,
that flaw is the first thing you see.
It seems to be magnified.
Your reflection mocks you,
screams and laughs at you.
Fat, overweight, a pig.
Everything you wish you're not,
it shows.
You learn to hate,
to hate everything about yourself.
Then one day,
you just give up.
