Everything i am

by Mandy Grace   Jul 15, 2007

I grip the edge of my bed my fingers go numb with the tingling, my k-9s erect in my mouth and cut my lip. blood trickles down my chin tasting of salt. black bristly hair sprouts from my body my arms extend with a crack i let out a loud howl of joy. my finger nails grow long and sharp and keel over and my spine painfully snaps and my knees buckle. i suddenly want to run, i want to run as fast as the wind. i jump from my window and my pads hit the as fault. i run as the wind and rain beets on my cold nose. a hear howls and barks in the distance. i leap through the air feeling powerful and free i hit the solid ground and gain speed. i join the pack as we wrestle along the river bank. my claws scratch against the rocks the water trickles through my soft fur. the moon washes over me its rays seeping into my very being. like little kisses. i close my blue eyes and lay in the tall grass pressed against a PAC member. the sounds of bats fluttering over me. the forest separates me from the hunter. from the city i loath. the sounds of the city are lost with the sounds of the natures wonders. i am finally at peace with myself.

Wow! Sorry for the late comment!

I was just watching the movie "Van Helsing" and when I read this poem, it instantly reminded me of it. I could see the scene along with every small piece of hair and movement of the werewolf. It was so descriptive!! I like how you put the poem in the view of the wolf. It added lots of character and mood. The sounds were so lifelike, and the ending was something very new.

I wonder how you got the inspiration for this wonderful piece of writing. It seems almost like a real fairytale. Overall, this poem was awsome!!! Keep up the great work!!!
