Broken Promises Broken Heart

by AngelEyez89   Jul 15, 2007

He opened the door and smiled at me,
My heart stopped beating and I forgot everything.
Everything but that smile.
We lie on your bed and let our hearts beat as one.
A conversation like this should never exist
About leaving home and relationships
And I'm falling fast, I have to slow it down, try and relax.

Well, I woke up today with the promise you made
And the smile on my face the I won't break
With each gentle touch I forget more and more about reality
And just hold onto the hope of a fairy tale ending.
I plant a kiss on your lips that you won't miss
And whisper into your ear, things you'll never remember.

And there you go leaving.
Save your poor excuses for your friends
You know you wanted this
You know you needed it
For all those times we felt like just being ourselves,
It wasn't enough
For all the times I heard "I love you"
It was all lies.
Open up your eyes and see that you're all I need.

You won't listen to me now,
You're standing still without cause to move back to me.
So tonight I'll leave the window open to anyone who wants to come inside
Those words you left unspoken will always leave my heart open for you,
Sign me up to hold you in my arms all night
I won't say much but I'll show you how I feel.

I'll show you how I feel.
And this time.
Maybe it will be enough
