Roll Over Beethoven

by dollwithafrown   Jul 15, 2007

He sits in front of the black piano
And plays a nightly tune.
It could make anyone fall into a loving sleep,
If only it didn't end too soon.

His fingers, the cause of greatness;
A masterpiece: a maze of notes;
A sound of tranquility in the air,
In and out of us all, it floats.

The keys are pressed so lightly,
Yet something magical is produced.
It grips you in, takes full control,
Like in the act of seduce.

He's just a name, a nobody,
Yet becoming bigger each day.
So roll over Beethoven,
A new pianist is coming your way.

    In all likelihood to Mel, I myself am quite fond of listening to instrumental music, particularly the piano and the violin. In which case, this piece endears me completely. Not only was it a delightful read, but it also was strikingly gorgeous. I further liked the thought you had brought into play, 'twas appealingly inspirational. Even Beethoven himself first started as ordinary, yet promising musician. :]

    "It could make anyone fall into a loving sleep,"
    `I think it would flow better if you omit the 'a' and/or 'could'. :]

    A pleasure to read, nevertheless. I have an enjoyable visit, as always. Keep it up!

    Best wishes,
    Marian
