Mask, Sweet Mask

by FountainsOfBlood   Jul 15, 2007

God save me, without my lie
It's a deceiving mask
Painted the most perfect smile
The most beautiful face
With sparkling white eyes

It's a lie, my life to many
I am a normal, happy, carefree girl
When really, they know nothing
But that's my masks job
Keep my life a lie

Mask is on during the day
I can't afford to break my perfect lie
Worked years to get every inch covered
And I wont let my emotions fail it
Not after all this time

Without my mask, where will I hide?
It's my only protection against the truth
It's painfully awful, but its reality
My mask is only unveiled to real friends
But inflicted on the others in this world

It's night, the sweet mask is removed
Uncovering a depressed little angel
She cries tears of blood, cuts marks of shame
Shows the real girl people think happy
The truth of a thousand lies
