Surrender to Myself

by .K.i.T.t.Y.   Jul 15, 2007

Droplets pierce my skin,
As I order a storm to pour
Down through this thick atmosphere,
Into my soul's back door.

Streaks of lightning scrape my windows,
Rain thrashes against my walls;
Almost every door is bolted shut,
So no one enters at all.

Each lock secured tightly,
Shielding in all my emotions,
Slowly loosening in this shower,
Despair and Aversion blacken.

Thunder ripples through the sky,
Mustering up Zeus's deadly bolts,
Now ramming my back door
Simultaneously with threatening jolts.

Quivers, Bangs, and Roars
Envelope my inner secrets,
Lashing them out into the open,
Allowing a Hell of a blitz.

Fingers lace across my scalp,
Digging nails deeply through,
Broiling back all those emotions,
Romping around like animals of the Zoo.

No matter what I do,
Nothing keeps them at ease;
They break through barriers
Simply as the monsters please.

My power over them
Begins to diminish,
As I Surrender to Myself
With one last bow to finish.

    Once again another well written poem with fantastic flow and imagery, I could picture the lighting and hear the thunder in my mind. Fantastic job as always 5/5 GG23
