For Beth: An Account of A Sunken Friend Ship

by Emma   Jul 16, 2007

Each day I miss you more and more.
Your heart was red and has turned black.
These days I can't recognise your face.
I want my best friend to come back.

Who knew the fall could be this steep?
We were such good friends before.
But once he comes in, I must take the plunge
For ne'er could friendship battle l'amour.

He took my friend, made my life hell
Controlled your life, tore us apart
If friends as well as lovers can,
Then, oh my word, you broke my heart.

I'd turn to therapy, but they can't help me.
I'd turn to friends, but I have but one.
I'd look to God, but I can't believe.
I'd turn to lovers, but I have none.

My back bleeds from the knife's red gash
Fury's head a-rises.
I never thought we'd be this way
And want no more surprises.

Best friends forever, friends till the end
Both phrases best forgotten.
They don't mean much to you right now;
Love is far more modern.

Our friendship's not remembered now.
Things have turned bleak and grim.
I'm still here to be your friend
But everything's for him.

Things were rocky even back
In last year's December.
We were once a happy pair
But you do not remember.

I feel I'm not important now.
I feel that I don't rank.
The fall was sharp and powerful
The day the Friend Ship sank.

*Yawn* I'm tired. I'm also all excited about the new Harry Potter book on Saturday. :D

Oh well thats good you have Rich! I feel the same way about only one person to turn to and he is my cousin. We are the same age and we are very close. We can talk to eachother about almost anything.

I am younger than you but not by much.

NOt everybody waves at strangers, but we are a friendly people! It's common courtesy to either smile or say hello when passing a person (not everytime) but most just do it to be nice!

I've definitely got someone to fill her place, as you put - Rich's the best friend I've ever had, and I'm still close to quite a lot of old friends. The line 'I'd turn to friends, but I have but one' was written when I had just as many friends as I do now, but the only one I felt knew what I was going through was Rich (because it's happening to her too - worse, actually).

I never think about the age thing ... I should probably be more careful, lol. Are you older or younger than moi?

It's the American thing, isn't it, to wave at strangers? ;) See, as an English and very antisocial person, I hate people lol.

I would never lie about myself. I just personally don't like to display my age in fear of others that could be using my information in the wrong way. I am not much of age difference than you are just for your information.

I would not really like her boyfriend if that situation happened to me either. I think you have every right to feel the way you do. I just hope you can find another person to fill her place in your life.

...i am truly honored to give them! I am all about making people feel good. I am the type of person who will randomly compliment people or wave at passers by just to see them smile back. I just hope I can show my smile through my encouraging comments.

It is amazing what we can do with technology now. I thought you might be from the States since most people I meet online are, but since you hadn't changed your age on your profile I wasn't sure whether or not to trust it when it said you lived in the USA.

GAH. Why do people have to change? Or at least, why do we have to notice it? Beth's changed completely thanks to her boyfriend (who, as you may have guessed, I don't like, lol) and has become a bit of a pathetic drip. BUT OH WELL. :D

Comments people have thought out are always the best ones to receive. I feel truly honoured. ;)
