Graffiti Mind

by OHgreenman   Jul 16, 2007

Isolated behind cold iron bars
Prisoner cornered in my own mind
Unwanted visions paint concrete walls
Graffiti of past left behind

Segregated thoughts become disorderly
Ransacking stained cell for solution
Traveling road of insanity
Departed secrets my execution

Unconnected with existence
Laughing shadows consume me
Sifting through pigmented chaos
Seeking the cell key

Memories spray painted; need paroled
Darkness begging to be free
Cellmate no longer wanted
Exhausted brain expressing its plea

Wow, incredibly written poem. It is so deep. Third stanza is my favorite. Atmosphere of this piece is amazing and you described emotions excellently. I like the ending very much.
Well done! This is a great poem.
