Damsel in Distress

A Damsel in Distress
Running to her only escape,
Leaving the world behind.

She runs through the darkest night,
Into the thickest woods
To find the one place where she truly belongs.

She travels day and night,
Running from the Shadows,
Shadows of her dreaded past.

Making her way through the woods,
She falls, tripping over rocks,
Stumbling down the hills;
Traveling with bruises and scars.

By day she flies,
And at night,
She becomes faint and ccollaspes.

Every night she's pulled down farther,
And farther down towards the Unspoken Place,
A land of suffering.

Many days,
Many nights,
Running through the woods,
She is almost there,
But she is missing something,
Something that will make her destination worthwhile.

The one thing,
That will comfort her
When she arrives...

Your embracing arms.
---

Again, old. I didn't think I'd end this one.

I think you ended this one beautifully. I often run myself... as fast and as far as I can.

I can relate so well to this piece.

You have done a wonderful job
