No matter what!

by dreamgrl   Jul 17, 2007

How hard it must be,
To give life and then
Let him take thee
To nurture and cradle.

Your love was his warmth when he was cold
You thought your love would be enough
or so you were told.
You saw the dark clouds
But missed the signs
Nothing could prepare you for those
Dark times.

As a mother we love with no hesitations
We dream their plans
That fuel our expectations
When he did wrong
You listened without speaking a word
And accepted his explanation.

It is darker now and you wonder why
How he could tell you all those lies.

Then that court day comes
You hear the evidence
You could not believe what they said he had done.
You sit there and cry
With his whole life passing you by.
This is not what you had planned
There all fading away now
Like grains of sand.

He took her life
With no hesitations
His story was nothing but lies
You are his mother a broken soul
With love in your heart
And forgiveness in your eyes.

He reaches for you
And without even thinking
You reach for him
You hold him like you did so many years ago
When there was nothing but love and hope.

And as they take him away
You scream at him
"NO MATTER WHAT I LOVE YOU"
And by his side is where you will stay.

There is no greater love than the love of a mother
It is true and pure
It is within you and beside you
And gives you the strength
To get through all that you endure
No matter what
Wrong or right
There is no other
Than the love of a mother.

That was such a deep poem, oh my goodness, I felt every word, even though I'm not a mother. Great job!!
