Disgrace

by XXXChasing a memoryXXX   Jul 17, 2007

She sat on the edge of her bed
the tears rolling down her face
theres nothing left to do
her family said she was a disgrace

the moonlight shining
through the curtains
her tears rolling
in streams

she keeps a knife
hidden in her room
she doesn't understand
that she will use it soon

the knife is clean
never been used
but the time is almost upon her
all because she was abused

they never saw
her full potential
they saw right through her
she was nothing at all

in her poems she wrote what she felt
she wrote down every memory
when she looks back now
she cant remember when she was happy

she opens the glass cabinet
where the knife is kept
over the last few nights
she has never slept

the glass is so shiny
in front of the toys that hide the knife
the knife that was about to be revealed
after it took her life

she realized what she did
but she was still a mistake
if they only understood
maybe they could see that she was great

she is sorry for everything
and that she was a disgrace
she is sorry for all the tears
rolling down her face

her spirit has left this world
thou her body still remains
please just remember
that a childhood of abuse can drive a broken girl insane
