Drowning You Out

by *Charisma*   Jul 17, 2007

Sunshine makes the pain feel better
As the light pushes aside the dark.
When all my friends hang around
I forget I have a broken heart.

But when the sun goes down at night
And everyone's lying in bed
There's nobody to distract my mind
And keep you out of my head.

I wonder why it didn't work out
Or why I can't refuse to let go.
I could have made this easier
If' would have just let you know.

But now I live with a torment
Burning up hope I still had.
The fire is still blazing for you
But now the flames are all bad.

They only eat at my sanity,
Leave ashes where love had been
Take everything I wanted
Scorch it so I'll never mend.

So baby, I'm getting the water
To put out the hurt this time.
I couldn't love you, so I'll just
Drown out what wasn't mine.
