I heard the news the other night
When I was told I hoped that everything was alright
But then those little words I dreaded to hear
Kept ringing like bells in my ears
I was told that you were gone
The battle of death you had not won
I cared so much for you
When I say that I mean it its true
I know I never gave you the time of day
And now all I can do is sit here and pray
Ill pray for us to meet again someday.
I feel so bad and I can’t stop crying
Inside I feel like a part of me is slowly dying
I know you would not want to see me this way
If you were beside me on this very day
A this point everything seems like a dream
I just want to wake up and scream
But then I realize that it’s the real deal
You died that night behind the wheel
While driving home after meeting a friend
You never realized your life would end
It turns out the roads were wet and slick
And it was you who God would pick
With a pole you would collide
Causing him to get another angel by his side.
