When I look up at rainbows.

by Willow   Jul 18, 2007

I'll skip through red,
Remembering the lonely nights,
When I would sit in bed,
Holding the blade tight.

I'll fly through orange,
For these were the after days,
When I would nurse my arm,
Wishing there were other ways.

I'll walk slowly through yellow,
Because I was my happiest then.
I would see the positive in everything,
It would even flow through my pen.

I'll wander through green,
Taking in the memories that'll leave me numb.
I'll see every forced smile,
And hear that continues hum.

I'll swim through blue,
Forcing myself though every tear.
I could drown in all I've shed,
Because I've cried for every fear.

I'll run through indigo,
Pushing aside what I've forgotten.
Running from every touch,
Fearing my words will be stolen.

I'll tiptoe through violet,
Where my most hated memories silently wait.
Why did these things happen,
Why were they apart of my fate?

As i look at the rainbow,
A silent tear falls,
You can't block out the past,
Something always knocks down the walls.
