Introverted (confidence)

I was crazy
to think it couldn't happen to me
to be rejected,replaced
it wasn't expected

one ounce of confidence
caused me this disgrace
with happiness, on his face,
the look that put me in my place

the first time,
the last time
I rely on myself
to be brave, outgoing

for once in my life
being myself seems right
introverted, in my small corner
with lonliness as my only friend

with this hit,
my awareness is full blown
unaffected by this dismissal,
but still my heart aches with dejection
