Slipping Away

by Sherry Lynn   Jul 19, 2007

An overwhelming pain
Left immobilized; unable to move
Every breathe hurts
Cuts deeper than any wound

Life no longer a pleasure
Death lurking at the door
Time slowly passing by
While the body falls to the floor

Dreams that once were
Forever laid to rest
No longer an ache
Residing in the chest
