Fireworks bursting in every color
except my favorite blue
these celebrating sparkles
and awe-ing spectators
full of friends and strangers
still can't pull me away from my thoughts...
...fireworks in my heart...
Of who I'm going to miss the most
Of our friendship vows and prose
Your "We'll be friends forever" and
"I love yous" that melt my heart.
...fireworks in my heart...
Oh boy, if you only knew
what I've always thought of you
and how long I've really loved you.
...fireworks in my heart...
To me, you'll always be,
that silly summer boy on the seashell beach
with hair like lemons and lips like peach
And when you think of me,
I hope you think of happiness
and my beautiful blue dress
When you hear our favorite songs
the ones we sang all summer long
the hot tubs and back rubs and tickle fights
faded jeans and crashing waves and nights
when you just never wanted to leave...
I hope you remember me.
Its hard to look back and not feel bitter-sweet
As I stand alone and yearning on our street
Imagining you to come running out your door
Wishing these summers could last forevermore
Being right beside each other all summer long
Then waking up one day to find summer had gone
You can be sure I cried...
...fireworks in my heart...
The way your blue eyes shine
put these fireworks to shame
for there will never be such a blue...
as my favorite color that thrives in you.
