I'm not mad at you.

by audrey harris   Jul 20, 2007

You keep on saying that you're sorry, daddy,
but I'm not mad at you.
I've missed you and I'm glad you're here,
and that's the honest truth.

You keep saying that you're ashamed, daddy,
for those lost 10 years.
But that doesn't bother me anymore, my father,
because now you promise that you'll be here.

You say you want to make it up, daddy,
for the times you weren't around,
but dad, you already have
by being the first to tell me you're proud.

So you can stop apologizing, daddy,
for this is the honest truth:
I'm happy that you're in my life again
and no, I'm not mad at you.

    That Was Nice.
I Like It When People Are Forgiving. It Puts A Sentimental Spark In Poetry.
And Well My Father Died A Few Months Ago, So I Like Poetry Like This. For As Many Things Hes Done Wrong... If I Had The Chance To See Him Again, I Would Only Say I Loved Him.
    Excellant Job.

    This was wonderful.
I love how you kept saying you weren't angry that he wasn't there.
I think the best thing is that he is there now.
