My Other Half

You have no idea how much our friendship means to me -
I didn't know where I was going or what there was going to be.
Words cannot express how much I truly care;
I thank you for all the times that you have been there.
Our long talks and phone calls, lasting half the night,
You always know how to make everything alright.
Whether it's arguing about words, to laughing over crayons,
I know I always have your shoulder to lay on.
You've picked me up when times were tough,
When I wanted to quit and enough was enough.
You told me to stay strong and you helped me move on.
I stopped searching for a best friend; he was in you all along.
I found the other half of me and I found it there in you,
Don't ask me how it got there and don't ask me what to do.
That you for having such trust in me;
I'll treasure each moment and hold them closely.
