Below Freezing

by Melissa   Jul 21, 2007

The chill of reality
has settled it's rime
upon my tender flesh
and the temperature
is below freezing tonight

I'm searching for a human quilt
to help liquify
these winter feelings
into summer rain,
but there's no one around
just cold stone
and the heartbeat of my pen
slowly icing over

Loneliness is a very sad emotion
and all I could think is if I could just
reach out and touch someone hold
someone anyone that it would all be
    Ok again.
A sad read and an excellent write
thank you for sharing and write on,

I loved these lines and the way you refer to the concept of coldness and ice in this poem. That may not make sense but point blank I love this. : )
