You've locked yourself into a room
Your world is crashing, filled with doom.
The questions build while answers leave
You want to cry, but no time to grieve.

So you build a haven in the hate
But problems don't just dissipate.
Deeper into a hole you crawl
Until you're backed against a wall.

Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide.
Glimmers of hope are always denied.
People look up to what you say
But all your words have run away.

You're not the first, nor will be the last
To feel that life comes on too fast.
But you can't stop when the light is green
Or fear the future 'cause it can't be seen.

Hard times will come and they will go.
You can learn what you don't know.
I've said this to him so much, and I
Am always returned with no reply.

This is truly touching, girl. I mean this is heart-wrenching...especially b/c I know who it's about. I'm really sorry but you did an excellent job with this! I mean amazing...so many stanzas hit me really hard. GREAT JOB!
