I Hate It

by Katie   Jul 22, 2007

I don't know what to expect when I look in the mirror
I see a girl unsure of herself
A girl that has been crying again
Because of a stupid boy
I see a girl with a broken heart and tears streaming down her face
A girl who hides her emotions so well
That no one knows her true self

Other days
I see a confident girl
A girl very sure of herself
A fun and energetic girl with no fears
One that rarely cries
She always has fun

I'm both of those
The shy out going girl
Who shows only the close ones the tragedies in her life
Then covers herself up so no one will ask
She never wants to remember
But everywhere she looks, she sees pain
She sees nightmares
She's reminded of why she hides

I hate it
I hate the feelings
The memories
I want them to go away
Never to be seen again
So the crying will stop
And the truly real girl can show herself
Instead of hiding behind what she's not
She needs to show her emotions
But someone needs to teach her how

Loved the point of this poem. I've been hiding so long, I'm pretty sure I've lost myself so I can relate. 5/5
