The Dream- complete series 1-3

Fog settling in the fields,
Silence throughout the streets.
On a night cold and dreary
Curled beneath warm sheets,
I dreamed a dream so clearly.

She woke in green pastures
Cool running creek ahead.
Warmth, blissful sunshine,
Where peace only spread.

He laid back lazily
Out of no-where he appeared
A soft smile on his face,
The man that she feared.
She sat uneasily by his side
Plucking blades of grass.
She snapped bunch of sticks
'Relax.' He said at last.
'You'll hate me.' She whispered
Gently he shook his head
'Have a little faith in me,
I will love you until I'm dead'
'How long would that be?' She demanded
'You're devoted to suicide,
To love and have you leave...
It would be better if I died.'

She looked out far away
So long her heart had cried.
Her thoughts so full of violence,
Her mind worshiping suicide.
All the men in her past
Had broken and hurt her heart
so she closed up and locked away
Herself for a new start.
She became inside so cold
Hateful, so empty, and forgot
How to give and accept love.
Avoiding had been the plot.

'Please smile.' She turned to him
'You're beautiful.' He sighed
She shook her head 'No!'
'I don't believe it.' She cried
He grinned 'But you are, I know'
'I no longer can die.' He declared
And looked earnestly at her
'I need to protect you.'
She answered him quieter
'Trust me, you don't need to.'
'Yes I do.' He smiled
And looked directly into her eyes
'I need to protect yourself from you,
Protect you from your lies,
And help start your life anew.'
He took her hand in his
And upon it placed a kiss
'I myself need a new start
With you in the country it is bliss.'

Years passed by unnoticed
Her heart she gave to him
With her love and dreams
Trusting in nothing grim,
Her tears no longer streams.

Gold sun rays lit the earth
And all the joys she'd never known
Removed all the throbbing pain,
Thorns and thistles that had grown.

Sinister clouds formed overhead
The air turned bitterly cold
Shadows grasped at everything.
The sunshine and peace were sold
To haunting chills and it's black sting.

She turned reaching for her lover's warmth
But, he was gone. Gone!
Her heart raced, she leapt to her feet
She searched, her heart torn.
Then she spotted him amongst the wheat.
She ran to him, her beloved!
His back was turned to her. but...
When he turned around she saw
His heart to her was shut.
True love she saw no more.

His soft face was gaunt,
His gentle eyes were ice.
He fixed he with a stare
That threw her heart like dice,
Though it seemed he did not care.

Tears rolled down her cheeks
As she fell down on her knees.
'What have I done wrong?
Tell me please, oh please.'

His voice was dark and sombre
When finally he did speak.
He said she didn't love him
Because she was too meek.
She clutched to him and sobbed
'I'm sorry, I don't know how to love.'
She tried to kiss his lips
But for that received a shove.
Shadows all around him
As he told her all her faults
An how her heart is cold.
Locked away behind bolts,
Alone she would grow old.

He wouldn't look into her eyes
Incase she saw inside
His heart and mind both locked
The key was held by Pride.

She forced their eyes to meet
And she saw the demons of his past.
Death, drugs, lies, murder, his woes
All of it she was at last,
Even without the words, she knows.
'I love you, no matter whats been done
Nothing will scare me away from you.
I love you with all I can be
Trust that what I say is true.'
'I love you.' He whispered back
'But these demons are my own
All the memories are haunting.
So through life I'll go alone,
Until Death comes courting.'
'Don't leave me here, Beloved'
She took his hand in hers.
'Or here I'll forever wait,
Years, weeks, days, and hours
No matter what your fate.'
'Don't.' He said 'move on with life
forget that I exist
I know you will do well
It's best for you like this.'

I cried while in my sleep
I tossed and turned around
I was stuck in my dream so deep,
Inside it I had drowned.

From her hill she watches him
As he slowly walks away
Crows circling up high
Spreading silence's decay.

To the city he returns
As though he's never been away
He drinks and goes to parties
Countless girls become his prey.

Upon that lonely hilltop
Looking own upon the streets
She watches her beloved
Knowing he'll never feel complete.

Sprawled across the sidewalk
An empty bottle in his hand,
Vomit on his face and shirt
Too intoxicated to stand.
One night he finds himself
The killer of a friend
When drugs and drinking clash
And someone's life must end.

Although he wants her back
An the country life he grew to know
To ashamed to return to the hill.
Even if she'd waited for him to show
She could not love him still.

Many men came to woo
And win 'Fair Lady's' heart
Their hopes and dreams diminished
For her gaze they could not part
For his return was all she wished.

Years of pain passed by
Her legs collapsed beneath her.
Still, she watches from her knees
Waiting for her lover
She only whispers 'please.'

And still the years went o
Her body turned to stone.
Watching him forever
Upon that hill alone.

Her Beloved was found dead
A note locked in his hand
'Bury me upon that hill
where my Angel once did stand.'

In silence they buried the man
At the statues feet
Finally together,
Unable to be complete.
