Lost Lover's Song

by Cindy   Jul 22, 2007

How can something break
that's already broken?
Feeling cracks forming,
sorrow is love's token.

Heart's desire hurting,
joy of love turns to pain.
Burning the essence of being.
Nothing left in life to gain.

Hollow dark empty soul,
love's light extinguished.
Loneliness now resides,
where love once flourished.

Bitter taste now lingers.
Trails of burning tears.
Left to love alone,
With one's solitary fears.

Hope a distant memory,
now forever gone.
Quietly echoing,
A lost lover's song.

Very well written, what can I say, you've heard it all before.. remember the broken hearted, within sorrow are never really departed.
