Life LOST in My Arms

My hands won't stop shaking,
I have to stay strong
But watching my family deal with this is heartbreaking

A blank stare falls upon my gaze,
A loyal friend has passed away
Leaving my mind in a dizzying haze

In my arms lies a soldier of compassion,
He only wanted to please
But now the eternal kiss has left him completely ashen

I never gave him the respect he deserved,
But in my mind, his spirit will always be preserved
