I Feel It In My Chest

by Jamin Huchingson   Jul 23, 2007

I feel it in my chest
Tried multiple times to put it to rest
Like a wave at the peak of it's crest
I went from complete; to nothingness
Whole; to an emptiness
From sane; to obsessed
Being free; to possessed

I feel it in my chest
In the very essence of my veins
I've felt this lingering pain
As if an excessive amount of blood
Has continued to drain

It pulsates every time my heart beats
And like maggots on a corpse
My inside it eats

I feel it in my chest
Tried multiple times to put it to rest
Like a wave at the peak of it's crest
Weightless; to a sudden free fall
A continuation; to a complete stall
Where everything collides
All the hello's and
All the good-byes subsides

I feel it in my chest
Tryin to hard to put this to rest
Like a deceased friend
That you have to bury
Movin on without them
Is just so scary....

So like a wave
At the peak of it's crest
I put my past to rest
I lay a rose on the tomb
And wait like a wave at It's peak
For it's sudden fall of doom....

It's a really good poem, man... the flow sometimes get lost but it's because the fellings that form the poem are really high...and the way you written it's marvelous!

Well, it's choppy and doesn't flow so well, but I can feel the emotion in the words and the repetition helps a bit. I guess maybe try to elongate lines so that the rhythm flows better.
