Storm

by Faye Byrem   Jul 23, 2007

Another storm is brewing
I smell it in the air
I see the clouds gathering
over here, over there

Feet won't carry me fast enough
To outrun stormy skies
The clouds descend, engulf me
Rain falls from my eyes

Where could I find shelter
From this desolate place?
For it is within my own soul
That I run this hopeless race

The ravages of life have left it barren
The stench of pestilence oozes from the ground
It is the ruins of lost love
Where only carcasses can be found

    Faye Byrem,
This was a truly incredible piece of petry, and I am in aw at your use of words. They created such a strong image in my mind, so it felt like I was almost experiencing what was happening. The flow was perfect, the words, everything!
This was a pleasure to read, so keep it up, 5/5

    With all due respect,
    Hatori

P.S. If you get a chance, could you please comment and vote one of my poems?
    Thanks!
