End of Life

by Twisted Heart   Jul 23, 2007

On the edge of surrender
Cascades the fountains of infinite light
Tempered with hunger
Streams whip away into the night.
Heart's flutter pulsing
Thunder beats in strained breath
Age tarnishes freedom
For sweet pleas of rest.

Mercy stained wreckage
On tempered flames of desire
Breaks of mere heartache
Transcend on ashes tainted and tired
Come searching the mind
From depths too dark to be seen
Thumping grows weary
From the cries inside as they scream

The perilous journey
For the soul now to awake
Comes tender release
From the feel of each breath as it breaks
A shadow of comfort
In tears formed that fall in the night
Rests silent the heart
From the struggle of life
