Something Has Happened

Every time you said you loved me,
Every time you said my name,
Just for a moment- my heart skipped a beat.

Every time your hand grabbed mine,
Every time I saw your face,
I knew our hearts would meet.

Every time I had a bad day,
Every time I had made a mistake,
I was always the one to blame

But I would close my eyes,
And just pretend-
I'm back at that October football game again.

But something happened to us
We're not together
And there's no more forever

So maybe this isn't exactly
How we planned it to be.
But I guess that's why they say life's a mystery.

But I guess we're over
I guess we're done
And I guess we at least had some fun.

....So now what are we supposed to do?
I'll admit my life is harder without you.
Because now I know you loved me too.

But we're impossible.
And its too late.
And I guess I'm left to wait.

What I'd give
To be able to live
The past weeks over again.

Almost perfect

But I guess I'm the only one who still cares.

So while you're with her
I'm left to wonder
What life will be like without you- even for one summer.

And I guess,
I'm just scared.
When I come back... will it still be there?

I promise while I'm gone

I'll think about you all of the time.

Just promise me that while I'm gone,
You'll think of me too
