Silent Prayers.

by ABake   Jul 24, 2007

I see you coming from around the corner,
I dart for the nearest shelter, but you already seen me.
I mumble under my breath, and sprint as fast as I can.

I try and run from you, but you continue to chase.
No matter how fast I run, you seem to catch up to me,
I have no place to run, I finally just give up, you win.

I am out of breath, heart is pounding, knees are weak.
I look around and plead for help, you watch me.
I'm scared, terrified and softly you begin to speak.

I can't hear what you say, my heart beat is too loud.
It's probably getting late, no one even around.
I say a silent prayer, and mumble an Amen.

Please God, don't let him hurt me.
I promise you Lord, I will do anything I possibly can.
The man is still watching me, I begin to feel violated.

I look around, then close my eyes, close them real tight.
I wish that this isn't real, just another nightmare.
I jump, I soon become overwhelmed with fright.

He dumps out my purse, takes money and all that.
Shakily I speak, take it all please just let me go.
Tears start to fall, my heart pounding out of my chest.

I ask just get it over with, do whatever he must do.
My eyes are pleading, prayers repeating silently.
I wish I knew who he was, trust me I really do.
