Love's Noose

by *Charisma*   Jul 24, 2007

You touch my cheek lightly.
Was that a sparkle in your eye?
It's so hard to read between
The truth and all your lies.

You catch me then drop me.
Hold my hand, then let it go.
I'm spinning and stopping
Dizzy from what I don't know.

I have dreams and nightmares.
Hopes that crash around.
Each time you lead me on
Then quickly drag me down.

Don't flirt with my young heart.
It won't stay that strong
If you keep pulling it's edges
'Til they unravel and are gone.

If you don't want me, say it.
It feels much better to lose
Then watch myself hang
From your reckless love's noose.

I refuse to hang forever.
Cut these lines, I will do.
I won't watch my heart break
If I can just let go of you.

For my dearest cousin....

I liked this one, words so simple yet they spoke volumes of truth that so many people can relate to.
    Very poignantly written =)

Now if this is who I think it's about....I LOVE IT! This is what I love, something different. Even risking not everyone understanding it, just writing because you need to. Much better!
