Never Does it Slow

by audrey harris   Jul 24, 2007

Life-
it's a quickly fading breath;
every inhale brings
you closer to your death.

Time-
never ever does it slow.
The second you just lost
is gone and no more.

Change-
it's an inevitable thing.
The more you try to hide from it,
the more suffering it brings.

Hope-
what keeps one alive;
it will help the crying child
have future purpose in his life.

Because life is just a short time,
something we can't change.
And when our fire starts to die,
hope will re-ignite the flame.

We must not fret, for time is quick
and almost gone.
It will never stop or slow,
it's in a constant run.

The moments we missed on stupid things
can never be replaced.
But we can make our futures better
by learning to stop wasting time and change.

Seconds are non-renewable,
as are the times wasted in strife.
But if you'll ever be anything,
you must choose now to live your life.

Stop worrying about being miserable,
wondering what everyone thinks of you.
You're wasting your life wishing back
on time that is gone and through.
