Light To Live, Darkness To Die~A Poetry Duet

by Harley   Jul 24, 2007

Branches swaying in the wind,
a gentle reminder of the cold,
The sun radiating through it's leaves,
a light that warms my heart.

A timeless end,
like the candle light that flickers through my mind,
But forever shines the flashlight,
that lingers within my black heart.

The night of gentle begininngs,
the day of harden darkness,
The rise of the garden of eden, the fall of hell
but the reign of divine power.

The ice that freezes my black heart,
The wind that blows through my windowed mind,
The sigh that slips from your lips,
the gaze of a perfect world within your eyes.

The time that stops you dead,
the bellows that leave you cold,
My touch that you crave,
but that you can only wish you had.

The stars that burn for glory,
the darkness that yearns for light,
My feet that long for the warmth of sand,
the light that can not live without darkness.

The eyes that cannot wake,
the dream that cannot be,
the hand that tried to grasp,
the animal that longs to be free.

The love that could never be,
the kiss that shouldnt have been seen,
The embrace that forever haunts you
and the dream I wish I could live,
But before I could get close,
you shunned me away and left me to live in my dispair.
