Fried Sunshine

by Carlee Ann   Jul 24, 2007

She wore her little blue dress
He wore his brightest smile
As they held hands and walked
Up the dusty road a while

Seventeen and innocent,
They all said she was too young
But one look into his deep eyes
And she knew he was the one.

They said his arms should be plowing
Not holding his precious love tight
But one touch of her skin to his
And he knew that this was right

They promenaded to the county fair
Where the love just seemed unreal
Nothing was ever more beautiful
Than her on that Ferris Wheel

Under the sky on green grass they lay
Drinking in time and fried sunshine
And on that day and forever more
I knew his deep green eyes were mine

Now our girl walks down that road
Her dress, little and blue
I only hope that her true love
Will taste the fried sunshine I knew.

*thanks for the title, Sunny bunny.*
