This Dance Hall

This dance hall is full of people pretending they're happy; faking happiness,
see the girl with the pink dress; she's really completely dead inside,
it's a dance hall; she's wearing enough make-up to hide it all,
see the man with the feathery hat and eighteen hundreds coat,
he thinks he actually has a chance to win her over; too bad she's shallow.

This dance hall is full of people with no beliefs of sorrow; pain is just another game,
see the man with the girl on his arm; she's there for the money nothing more,
he's in love and she is too; too bad isn't not the same type of love,
see the girl with the maid suit on; she's really in love with man with the greedy girl on his arm,
she loves him for his soul; too bad he'll never know until it's too late.

This dance hall is full of liars, insecure people and greedy people,
see the woman wearing all her jewelry; fur coat and cigarette smoking covers her,
she believes she's going to find a honest man; too bad they're all faking honesty,
see the man staring into the ceiling; he's really a dreamer with no remorse,
he left a woman and four kids; for a life of drawings and evolution.

This dance hall is full of people pretending to be who they're not,
look at everyone playing their part to perfection; it's worse than an opera,
in this dance room you will find; no one is what they appear to be,
so lie to fit in; wear a mask of happiness and act like you're rich,
you'll fit right in with the liars, insecure people and greedy people.

The dance hall represents todays society.
I loved how you described everything to perfection.

"see the man with the feathery hat and eighteen hundreds coat"

To me this shows that no matter age we live in, People don't change.
His clothing made it out that he was representing the fact even back in the 1800's
people were greedy, insecure and so on.

    Well done sweettiieee piee.

One little thing that stuck out to me, The repetition of "People" on the last line threw off the flow for me.

But well written, I love you :)
