R.I.P Alex

by HaileyHelen   Jul 25, 2007

Everyday a person leaves us
they die for their country
and live to protect it
i did not understand this
when you said goodbye
I didn't understand
so all i did was cry
you happened to be
my one true best friend
And i love you to this day
Our friendship will never End
you may have only been 22
but you were like a father to me
And i will always miss you
i hope even now ,you can see
I really love you
and you mean the world to me
it seems like just yesterday
you said goodbye
it feels like just yesterday
you told me not to cry
it seems like yesterday was the day you went to war
but just yesterday
i found out that you were no more

Backround_______________ k well as some people know my dad left a long time ago and this guy Alex Was like a father to me!he left for the war a while ago and i found out yesterday that he was MIA so i thought that i would write this to commemorate him and let everyone know he died with honor!

  • Wow, this is very sad. I don't know anyone who have gone to the war and died, but I did have a friend who was like a brother to me that died almost 2 years ago. I wrote a poem for him, if you want, check it out. I loved this poem so much. 5/5

This one struck me speak less. I had goose bumps all over my arms. This one is overflowing with emotion, whitch is great. it was so well written that if you just had the words and no emotion, it would still be a wonderful poem. 8/5
