Needing Peace

Young and confused
It's me you see
Here I sit
Alone and afraid
Tears streaming down my face

Upon my knees I beg for answers
One soul
One mind
One heart
Yet a world of peace
I need to find

Yearning for the departed
It's simple you see
I long to go back
To declare my love
Did I make it clear
Because it certainly was pure

Are the angels above
Aware of my feelings
Do they witness my tears
As I wish them near

Empty and defiant to loss
I'm troubled you see
I need my angel
Right here, right next to me

The roots to my smile
Now lie beneath the impossible
Shining beyond the clouds
I struggle to say good bye

Serenity be with me, I pray
I'm unhappy you see
For I cannot believe
Yet I know it to be true

Grieving and lost in misery
It's me you see
Unable to handle fatality
Afraid to accept reality

Upon my knees I beg for answers

    The peace you seek will come one day soon. Your angel is always by your side, search deep and you will see. I agree with both above me, we can all relate to a point with your words, it does hit home. Very heartfelt and filled with sadness.

    This poem hit me hard. I'm not sure why, but I feel like I can relate to it. Excellent choice of words and rhythm used to portray sadness.
