With Birds

There was a girl
She was dating a guy
He told her he loved her
That was a lie

She accused him of cheating
He got really mad
He hit her to get it straight
That what he had done wasn't bad

The next day he came back
With roses to give her
He said he was sorry
He never wanted to scare her

Now is when
she makes a mistake
She took him back
The outcome would be great

The beatings became daily
For bruises she couldn't hide
She was forced to lie
Never did she confide

Then one day
He lost his nerve
He hit her once
She didn't have a chance to swerve

He ran away
As she laid still on the floor
He didn't want to get blamed
For this gore

What he had done
He told no one
He knew the damage
That his temper had done

"You told me you loved me"
Were her last words
And now she flies
High in the sky with birds
