What happened to the nights, when spells were cast,
Behind our closed closet doors?
When you manifested into faraway lands,
The times when magic was reality,
And a darkened room,
Was a teeming jungle with panthers abound,
What happened to the dusty thoroughbred race track,
In my backyard?
And the billowing white, fluffy clouds on the trampoline.
The places where were stray dogs, wizards or even..
Goddesses.
Where are the times when we were civil war soldiers on the prawl?
And dolphins swimming amidst mermaids.
Where have you escaped?
Will I ever make believe again?
Can I ever find a universe under a moldy log?
Or a new world behind the tall grasses in the forest?
Where did you go imagination?
