Inanity

by Serina the Squid   Jul 27, 2007

I watched you from the darkness
My eyes encased in shame
Trying just to show you
That, for you, I would be tame

My footsteps made no sound
as feet barely touched the floor
Sneaking past your silhouette
though I longed to ask for more

Keeping still my feeble heart
I was trying just to breathe
But every time you looked at me
the swords of thought were sheathed

And then you came to know me
as I bid your every wish
Drooling as a helpless dog
I filled your every dish

All I needed was your smile
All I craved was your embrace
But every time, you let me rot
In the entrapment of your face

For years I crawled behind you
The subject of your game
But every second feeling used
Your smile erased my pain

Until the day I found your lips
A sudden, shocking ecstacy
Locked in final bliss with mine
This, the end of my inanity

When days passed and all I felt
was upon my lips, your dark abyss
Denied to all, and I, the fool
The silent scar you left me with

The silent hoping never voiced
consumed my heart, stole my pain
So from off my knees and to my feet
I stood alone, against the rain

You never noticed, never knew
But you don't have to, I am through
To light of sky, from dark of den
You'll never use THIS fool again

Oh WOW..Oh holy crap...favourite poem of your's so far.

I loved the transistion of melancholy and loneliness to determination and courage, it added for a powerful effect on the overall piece.

Flow was perfect throughout the whole piece and the imagery you portrayed created very vivid pictures for me.

    I just...love this. Love it!
