They smell so sweet

And meat

Of flesh and bone and rare
Entombed souls
And burning hair
A lie, deception cruel
Justice, yet ever unfair

Broken dreams and hopes
And spine
Bodies caressing
Repeating "mine"
A girl, a boy, a time
Where one is left
Speaking on the line
The smiles that lit up the sun
These days never more shine
