You'll See

by Cathy   Jul 27, 2007

If you look at me straight you'll see the secrets inside
you'll see all the tears and the river I cried
my heart will be aching away as you leave
you'll feel that emptiness that you didn't believe

You'll watch me as I lay there watching you drive away
wondering why you didn't want to stay
Ill close my curtain and dry the tear thats about to fall
than I'll walk to the telephone so I have it when you call

Than if you look deeper you'll see me in restroom
looking at all the wounds my body consumed
bruises on my arms and more on my back
than you'll feel that lump in your chest that you always lacked

You'll see the kids asking me things about you
like why did daddy make you cry? what did he do?
Than you'll see as my heart breaks even more
than you'll see yourself walking right through the door

Than you'll feel the love I had for you
you'll see me at different places just staying true
you'll see the joy whenever I answered my phone
and the light of my smile when you said you were coming home

Those are the memories that I want you to see
than maybe along the line you'll change for me
maybe just once you'll hold me close and never let go
and maybe once you'll show how you love me so
