The pain was harsh inside my heart
Death was all that was left
I stood on that bridge with tears in my eyes
Knowing no one would ever care
If this girl just disappeared
I stood there thinking this is the end
And then there was a stranger
Just reaching out for my hand
Her face was old and wrinkled
And her hand was soft to the touch
She placed her hand on mine
And this is what she said
years ago my child I also stood on this brigde
Thinking of that very same thing
Hoping all my pain would end
But a stranger came along
And said these words to me I will never forget
You can end your life tonight
Thinking no one will care
But there is a God in heaven
Whose heart would break if you took your life
I didn't believe a word she said
I asked how could there be a God
Because I have never felt him there
The woman said but he is always in your heart
All you have to do is ask
And his love you will feel
She told me that the words she heard
Was enough for her to try again
So every night since than
She walks out to this bridge
And Thanks God for love
And help someone else who wanted to jump
I walked away from that bridge
Feeling oh so different
So the next night I went to the bridge again
I looked to the sky and said
