Endorsing the independency inside

Women's power is not in-existent, it is hidden behind the dominating
For centuries blood has been shed for acquirement of our hearts
Underestimating our capabilities, we have misplaced our nobility
The ring of destiny, slipped onto our finger, sealing our fate
Oh, the necklace he bought you is beautiful madam
It tightens your airways you will be gasping for air
To escape the fumes of cleaning products you will be inhaling
I will stand and admire your stunning new high heels
That your Mr. has allowed you to buy after his pay rise
Chief executive, you will be breaking your back in those shoes
The new car is parked in the two door garage, untouched
Not for long, it personally has your name engraved across it
Have fun being a taxi driver without a wage or income
the joy of it all must be so overwhelming, what a life you lead
Dinner must be ready at a quarter to 6 precisely, madam
Mr. arrives from his long and harshly strenuous work
The meal must be highly edible, preferably a 5 star course
Children and father stack a mountain pile of dishes in the sink
Time for the nightly routine, wrinkly wet hands, and the usual sigh
Following the same ritual, day in day out, slowly breaking sanity
I remember when you were young; it must have been a lifetime ago
You had a dream, independent child of mine.
But somewhere along the path of life, it all went wrong.

What an amazing piece of poetry, this is going onto my favourites. It was so detailed and had so depth to the words.
    Brava!

This is true many around us have lost site of their dreams and goals and have settled for having less. This might come across as self centred but it is really for the better to keep your sanity and be the best person you can be for those around but we must never loose site of what we really want we can't continue to do things so that others maybe happy while we aren't. To help others we may first help ourselves.
    Loved it & ILY!

Excellent job on this piece you have penned. I hear so much of my mothers voice echoing throughout this write. Very thought provoking.

I love the way you have worded all of this. Its contrast is sharp.
