A picture in a window
a kid by a tree
with a frown on his face
growing next to the sea

beautiful looks
beautiful colors
beautiful was the person
who was the crook

the picture missing
the words the owner hissing
a priceless painting
cherished so dearly
stolen clearly

the culprit gone
not a clue on the lawn
except a small picture
of a pair of scissors
with one thing
written on the side
"free at last"
"the drawing gone with the tide"

the crook
took
everything away from the book
through the picture in the sea
to finally let the kid be free

as a smile appeared on the kids face
the tree blossomed in the sea
at an amazing pace
as the crook muttered one last time
"free at last"
then also took his own life
stabbed himself
in the heart with a knife

eyes open wide
smile on his face
even as he died
he lay there knowing all was fine
his thoughts began to decline
he laid to rest
for the last time

with a picture in his hand
on a man
laying by the sea
blood underneath
a beautiful man
with beautiful colors
a picture drawn perfect
not one spot smothered
with the last words written
"be free"
as the body floated out to the sea

Well, this was truly a different take on your writing. It was interesting, yet, blunt in some places. Good work, though.

I wonder why the other commenter didnt vote to this one. I gave you 5/5 coz this one is superb. So creative and the imagery is great. The metaphorical content is nicely worded and the poem is cohesive.

    Both poetically and lexically strong
